Everything you say is made with the sweetest inflection. Your voice tends to go up a lot and you pronounce some words like "now" and "there" with a Boston-like accent. I have no idea where you got that from, but we think it's hilariously cute. And you pronounce every word with a "p"as if it were an "f," like sfoon or sfin.
Songs: these are ones that you can sing almost entirely on your own
Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
The More We Get Together
Happy Birthday
The song from Love You Forever by Robert Munsch: "I wuv you ever, I wuv you always, lalala liviiiiiing, baby you be."
Above all else, you are fascinated with airplanes. It seems the big plastic one that came with the little people is something you just can't get enough of right now. Every day, you play with it. It is the first toy you want to play with in the morning. It is the first toy you want to play with after we come home from work. And it is usually the last toy you want to play with before heading upstairs for our nigh-night routine. Seriously. You. Can't. Get. Enough. Books with airplanes in them? Obsessed!
You also adore your tool set from Papa Tim. You want to fix everything, especially "popped tires!" You love to pretend that you are the driver and that we are your passengers. You demand two pesos from us per ride and then there is always an accident with a tire on our way to our destination (usually "Aaron's house"). We stop so you can fix it and then we carry on, only to get another popped tire. Then, you add gas, oil and water to the car. We start off again and there is another popped tire. So it goes until the passengers choose to opt for a new ride.
You had your second dentist appointment this week and, unlike the first time around, you didn't utter one cry. We practiced this over and over beforehand, but you were magnificently well-behaved. When the dentist said, "Open your mouth please," you opened real wide and let him use his funny-looking mirror and then brush your teeth. You even let Dr. Lester "scrape" your one front tooth that still has a tiny stain on it without a fuss. You played with the air squirter the entire time and didn't want to let it go. You watched Daddy get his teeth cleaned, too. While you waited for Mommy's turn to be over, you avoided the TV that they turned on for you (woohoo!) and headed straight for the vacant chair to play with the instruments. You love your gadgets! The dentist said your teeth were looking super healthy and strong and that the wide spacing between them is great because it leaves room for all your other teeth to come in and you may not need braces in the future. Let's hope! You were such a big boy and we were so proud of you!

You seem to have developed a bit of a fear of fireworks. You think every loud noise is a firework exploding. There is a ton of construction going on around our place and every time you hear a clang or a boom or a scrape, you think it is fireworks. You must have been slightly traumatized when you woke up on New Year's at Lolo's Beach and had a hard time getting back to sleep.
It is getting harder and harder for you to control your emotions when you get angry or upset. Your outbursts are becoming louder and more physical. At times, we have to hold your arms or legs so that you don't hit or kick us. You also try to bite in your most difficult moments. You usually only have meltdowns when you are tired, but sometimes you have them when things are not going the way you'd like them to. Your first reaction is to hit. And because you can communicate more clearly now, you are getting very good at saying, "Mommy, no! No time out!" or "Daddy, no eating. I don't like it!" We are working on helping you balance your confusing and big emotions, and we know that you will get really good at this the older you get. Mommy and Daddy are also working on being patient. It is not always easy.
A new game we play is shark. We put our hands on top of our heads like fins and say "duhdun, duhdun, dadadadada, duhdun!" and then we tickle each other. You love it. We are also starting to play more hide and seek games, although you tend to hide in plain view and welcome the catching part. You also love to play defibrillator. Daddy will clap his fists together and shout "charge!" He will then rest his fists on your chest and "shock" you as you giggle uncontrollably. You love spinning and sliding. You love running and jumping. You like singing and playing instruments like the fute (flute), biolin (violin), dee-tar (guitar) and dums (drums). You like us to put on music for you from iTunes.
You have many special requests throughout the day. One of these includes the "Shougal" River where you want to watch the videos we took from two summers ago which show the house and the river rushing. Another is driving the car, which gets really old really fast because it's so hot in the car. You also like to request "tookies", "gapes" and "watermelone." And of course, the most frequent request is for Trumpet or Baby.
For someone who LOVES driving, airplanes and movement, you were terrified of the rides at the local "fair" in Bel Air 3, when we visited Aidan, Tito Adam and Tita Joni recently. I think it was the noise of the gears. You had to be held and consoled as we went round and round. You did find some fun in the coin toss games, though, and you were sneaky about your playing methods.

What a joy, and do you ever like to talk, it's hard even for Gramlola to keep up with you, Whew!
