Dear Birthday Boy,
December 16 is a hard day to have a birthday when your parents are teachers. That is because school lets out for vacation a couple days before. Which means all of your friends are off traveling. So...this year, we decided to celebrate your second birthday the weekend prior.
We hosted a simple celebration for you at Bel Air Park where you got to do all the things you love to do: ride your bike, blow bubbles, run around in the grass, go down the slide and hang out with your friends. We were lucky that Jared and Aaron; Athena and Rhea; Sophia and Eva; Aidan; Henry and Charlie; Maya and Alena, Hannah, Sam and Lily; and Jenson all got to come and enjoy your special day with you.
We brought two full ice chests - one for the mommies and daddies and one for the kids. You ate your first popsicle on your second birthday and you LOVED it. In fact, you liked it so much that you ate two: one chocolate (mom's fave) and one strawberry.
Instead of presents, everyone donated some important items to Heart of Mary Villa, the orphanage where you were loved and cared for before you came home to complete our family. The babies there will be so thankful for all the milk, shampoo, soap and vitamins. Tita Jojo and Tito Neil were sneaky though - they got you a magnetic man who changes into lots of different outfits. And Jenson got you Play-Doh. And the Ferens got you a dump truck.
You had a fun time at the park, Ace, and we were so happy to watch you play, make a mess of your popsicles and have some giggles!

Happy Birthday big boy, wished I could have been there to celebrate with you but so happy I got to have special time before your birthday and you had so many friends at the park, it looks like you really had a wonderful time, that is so neat and donating all those items to Heart of Mary is very special, Lola will make sure she does that next time she comes out to see you, I love you my big 2 year old!
